It’s Official… Wingman Accounting is now a CIMA Training Office!
May & June saw the extraordinary league of Wingmen and Wingwomen breaking new ground as a business
As we said goodbye to Nazeera, we welcomed Emmanuel into the fold, while on the client front, a variety of great businesses representing various industries entered our community.
We had a great day out at the first in-person XeroCon with inspiring key-note speakers encouraging us to continue to forge ahead. However, that’s not the big news for the month.
That’s not the biggest piece of news for the month… The big announcement (as given away in our subject line) is that Wingman Accounting is now officially a CIMA Training Office! We are next level excited about what this means for our Wingman’s future.
We are very excited to welcome Emmanuel to our growing team.
Emmanuel has a solid track record of delivering in both financial and operational accounting roles and is in process of completing a remote MBA qualification at the University of Suffolk.
Emmanuel is currently based in Cape Town and has hit the ground running here at Wingman.
If the first month is anything to go by, there is a great story to be written here at Wingman. If you do get to meet him, please ask how he got the nickname ‘E-Manifest’ on the first day the team met him (clue: it has to do with the Netflix series).

As part of a raft of strategic outcomes we targeted earlier in the year, Wingman decided to enrol as a CIMA training office.
This will allow us to attract talent from newly qualified graduate pools, and allow for a more dynamic offering to clients. The news came through that CIMA has accepted our application and we are officially recognised as a Quality Training Partner.
It was an educational journey crafting the structure required to become a training officer and forced Wingman to mature its team development processes. So on that note, if you know of any recent graduates with CIMA designated aspirations – please do give us a shout!
Xero being a pivotal part of our service delivery, we were excited to finally attend a live session (the first since 2019), and what a great event it was.
Thanks to Xero and the Keynote speakers for that energy boost and that feeling of being part of something bigger.
One thing can be said, the Xero conferences of 2017 & 2018, had something between 50 – 100 attendees, whereas this year it was easily over 500. Xero is making its mark here in SA, and rest assured, you are ahead of the curve by adopting Xero as your accounting solution.
Our very own Wingman Accounting Director Ricardo got to meet up with Syft to chat about how we have been able to grow and provide additional value to our clients using Syft.
Over the years, Wingman Accounting has grown; our offerings have expanded to include value-added services. Having experienced the frustration of using a product that hadn’t evolved and kept up with his practice’s changing needs, Wingman knew it was time to find something better suited.
Studio Zoo is a multi-award winning digital agency, with a long-standing reputation as being the best in the game. It was during the first days of the pandemic when Studio Zoo jumped on board, and our engagement has evolved from pure outsourced bookkeeping; to Wingman taking ownership of the full finance function since late 2021.
