A Month of Strategic Changes

While we just moved out of the big February tax deadline, we did not rest on our laurels and proceeded to roll and execute on business and process improvements.
In this month’s newsletter you’ll see us making some moves on some of the big game we spoke in December’s mailer – namely: Selected enhanced tech tools for client delivery and deepening our in-house tax expertise.
We will also showcase one of our most exciting new clients that are no doubt going to make a big splash in the South African consumer marketplace (green energy please!).
Lastly, a small brag of us enjoying lunch on deadline day, as we delivered to all our clients ahead of time, demonstrating our proactive approach to accounting and compliance.

Ain’t no lone rangers here. At Wingman Accounting we believe teamwork is where it’s at. Whether it means helping a team member out a pickle or going the extra mile for a client, consider your back had.
Welcome to our newest Wingman!
Wingman decided it was time to take the business and our offering to the next level, and that led us to making our first ‘specialised tax’ hire.
We found Andries surfing some waves in KZN, but he was looking for a move back to sweet Jozi, so our fates were sealed.
Andries is going to support us with improving our tax administration, lightning fast registrations and guiding our clients through any complex SARS scenarios that pop up.
Welcome to the team Andries, we’re excited to have you on-board!

SARS Payment Cut-off rules:
SARS has announced new payment cut-off timelines. Effective as we speak, the new payment cut-off times to SARS will be as follows:
– Payments to SARS eFiling can be made Monday to Saturday until 20h00
– Payments to SARS eFiling will not be available on Sundays and public holidays
Please take note of the new payment processing times and ensure that your payments are made before the cut off time to prevent your tax status being negatively impacted by missed/non-processed payments.

We do what’s right, not necessarily what’s best. You won’t find us hanging out with the shortcut-takers or under-the-radar-flyers – we surround ourselves with straight shooters who also give a damn about making the world a bit better.

We enjoyed our customary ‘Deadline Day Lunch’ as a team this month and it was our way of demonstrating how we deliver proactively to clients ✈️
If you were scrambling on provisional and income tax deadlines, maybe it’s time you get yourself a Wingman 😉
Well done to the team on an amazing effort and keeping to the tradition!

Recently we welcomed GoSolr into our client community.
We see ourselves as the accountants of the future, and there’s nothing quite like engaging with a client that is also part of ‘the future’.
GoSolr launched late last year with an innovative approach to bringing Solar-powered access to a wide South African residential market. The idea is simple, instead of a homeowner laying out hundreds of thousands of Rands to install solar, why not just pay a monthly fee?
Starting from R1,499.00 p/m (including VAT), you can have a full solar solution (with batteries and inverters), ready to provide you clean, consistent energy.
From a consumer’s perspective the financial case is a no brainer – replace your existing electricity cost with this monthly fee.

Wingman Accounting helped GoSolr set up operations and compliance requirements at lightening speed – allowing them to get going with business and having their accounting and compliance needs covered with no stress.
Next on the roadmap is to automate parts of their processes to once again, ensure the admin burden is light, and the business can focus on what they’ve set out to do – get South Africa powered!
